Cities Direct: Make amends for those V-Day errors with a city break

Now that Valentine's Day is done and dusted, it's time to sit back and relax. You've wined and dined your partner, treated them to something special and left a smile on their face which will last weeks.



Or you could be one of those poor souls that fell into one of the numerous V-Day traps left by your partner. "Don't worry, let's not do anything this year, I will love you what ever day of the year it is," you hear them say. The day flies by and, like they said, you haven't got them anything because 'our love is worth celebrating every day' or some other cheesy saying.



Open the textbook of 'Valentine's Day Mistakes' and that is number one on the list. Get ready to set up camp in the proverbial doghouse and prepare for at least a month of silence. So, how can you make amends for what is obviously a tragic error of judgement?



Why not treat your loved one to one of the many European city breaks on offer? You can turn that frown upside down with a romantic weekend away to the fabulous city of Barcelona. Gorgeous, sunny vistas and a city bathed in Spanish culture is sure to rekindle the romance between couples. In the event that things don't work out, there is flamenco dancing for her, Barcelona FC and the Nou Camp for him. It's win-win all round.



How about the famous city of love, Paris? What better way to spend a day with your partner than by visiting the quaint coffee shops that populate the area followed by a candlelit dinner in the heart of the city. Feel like your standing on top of the world by visiting the Eiffel Tower or you can meander off the beaten tourist path and explore the local surroundings.



Either way, if your partner has a face like thunder, then there is no better time to whisk them away on a city break. Just don't make the same Valentine's Day error next time.
